Robin and Kali finished the 46th Air Race Classic 10 minutes before the deadline. With weather delays, they flew every minute of daylight during the four days of racing, logging more than 30 hours of flight time with no autopilot.
The final timing line was a flyover point twenty minutes from X51 Miami Homestead. After they crossed the timing line and throttled back, they realized that they would not land at X51 before the deadline, so they throttled up!
Their goals were to fly a safe race, have fun, finish. Placing 10th in a Luscombe is an incredible accomplishment.
Kali said “We are grateful to all of the teams that were willing to share PIREPS along the route. A special thanks to all of the directors and Air Race Classic volunteers and to our sponsor Jetlaw for making this possible.”
Congratulations Kali and Robin on your remarkable achievement!
